Passion by Lauren Kate
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
First thing’s first… I don’t like the cover of this book. LOL I judge books by their covers and books 1, 2, 4 and 5 of this series have gorgeous covers. Why did book 3 had to have a weird color thing going on, a totally different style dress, and straight hair on the model? It doesn’t fit at all.
Cover aside though, this book was SO much better than I expected it to be! I really thought the book was going to annoy me because let’s face it, Luce is pretty much the poster child for a TSTL (Too Stupid to Live) character. The whole plot of this book begins with the hissy fit that Luce pulls in book 2 when she puts herself in danger by running off alone to time travel. I expected to be pissed at her through the whole book.
I was happily surprised though that this book was really good. It was still a little long winded at times just like the other books, but things actually made a little more sense for a change! No, we still don’t know what the big huge secret is that the angels are keeping from Luce, but we know SO much more than we did from the first 1,000 pages of the first two books. I was so into this book that I didn’t want to stop reading it and couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. Well done, Ms. Kate!
